Zor-El is the father of Kara Zor-El and Superman's uncle.
History
Supergirl
Born on the distant planet Krypton, Zor-El was the younger brother of Jor-El. Both grew to become scientists in Krypton's dying days. He eventually met his future wife Alura In-Ze and together they had a child, Kara.
He, his wife and daughter survived the destruction of Krypton and lived in a colony of Kryptonian settlers inside a pocket of extra dimensional space named Argo City. When the Omegahedron is blown out into space, Kara takes it upon herself to retrieve it, much to the distress of her parents.
