- "But then a man gets older and he thinks very differently better, starts to see things very clear. And there's one thing I do know, son. And that is, you are here for a reason. I don't know whose reason it is, or whatever the reason... maybe it's... I don't know... but I do know one thing: it's not to score touchdowns!"
- ―Jonathan Kent[src]
Jonathan Kent was an American farmer. He and his wife found a baby from a Kryptonian ship. They raised the baby as their own and named him Clark Kent, after his wife's maiden name. Jonathan knew that his son was destined for greatness.
Biography[]
Jonathan Kent grew up in Kansas and eventually married Martha Clark. They lived together for decades but were unable to have children of their own. One day, while he and Martha were out driving, they found a three year old boy inside a crashed space ship.
They adopted him and named him Clark Kent. They soon figured out that he was no ordinary boy, with Clark lifting a truck up in front of their eyes. By the time Clark was eighteen, Jonathan died of heart failure in the farm's barn. Shortly afterwards, Clark left Smallville and became the hero known to all as Superman.
